Become a Divemaster on Koh Phangan

Divemaster Training

PADI Divemaster Course in Koh Tao ThailandSure, on the way to freedom are some hurdles you have to overcome. Before you can become a diving instructor you need to be a divemaster. As a PADI divemaster (DM) you can guide certified divers and assist scuba diving courses in the classroom and in the swimming pool. Since you’re not yet a diving instructor you need to be under direct supervision of an PADI diving instructor at all times. After the PADI rescue course and the divemaster training, you will be ready for the next step in the PADI diving career, the PADI Open Water Diving Instructor (OWSI)

As a certified PADI Divemaster (DM) you already can:

  • Guide and accompany certified divers on their underwater activities.
  • Actively assist PADI Diving Instructors in academics, pool and open water training.

Koh Phangan Map Sail Rock DiversSail Rock Divers are located on the north coast of Koh Phangan, in the fishermen village Chaloklum. Many diving instructors who are working longterm in Koh Phangan, enjoy the beautiful location of Chaloklum Bay because it so near to Sail Rock, known to be the best dive site in the Gulf of Thailand! Diving with whale sharks is one of the greatest attractions in the Gulf and Sail Rock is the ideal spot to dive with whale sharks! In Chaloklum, a small fishing village in  Koh Phangan which has become our home, you will find the ideal location and facilities to become an outstanding PADI diving instructor. Koh Phangan can suit all your diving needs and desires. You can find Sail Rock Divers at the beginning of the village, coming from Thongsala. Turn right at the 7/11 junction and follow the road for about 200 meters, then turn right again and follow the road to the dive resort.

Accommodation on Koh Phangan

Whale Shark in Koh Phangan ThailandSail Rock Divers Koh Phangan offers accommodation right at the PADI IDC center, keeping your ways short and saving you money on transport. The newly built bungalows at the Sail Rock divers Resort are spacey and comfortable. If you wish to stay on another place, Chaloklum offers accommodation for any budget directly on the beach or laid back in the jungle.

Restaurants Chaloklum Koh PhanganBesides the delicious Thai and western meals we serve at the Sail Rock divers restaurant and the cool drinks served at our own pool bar, you can find many restaurants along the beach road in Chaloklum. You can find Dutch specialties and Italian pizza and you will sure find delicious fresh fish in many restaurants in Chaloklum. While the fishing village Chaloklum is actually rather quiet and laid back, it still offers a few nice bars, some with pool table, where you can go out and enjoy a drink at the beach. Two bakeries, one German and one French leave you with a wide choice of fresh bred, cake and croissants. Several ATMs can be found around 7/11 and along the beach road.

Regular Diving Courses in Koh Phangan

Diving Courses Koh PhanganThe regular scuba diving course classes at Sail Rock Divers in Koh Phangan are small, with a maximum of four people per group. This ensures that our students will get the most out of your diving experience on Koh Phangan. Because of the small class size, all students will receive more individual attention and our diving instructors will be able to make sure that all students really master their skills and become better scuba divers!
